At Avium we grow cut flowers and foliage, and herbs and native perennials supportive of our local pollinators, using sustainable and organic farming methods. We work hard to grow unique and specialty blooms that you won’t find just anywhere.

We are Lindsey and Christine. Our paths crossed in 2015 when we discovered our mutual desire to get our hands dirty, sweating in the Chicago sun, and a severe passion for flowers and their natural beauty. Talk of farming flowers soon became the regular. We each had spent years in agriculture in different capacities and after a summer of growing all of the flowers for Lindsey’s wedding, we found ourselves enjoying our new role as city farmers and business partners. In January of 2016, Avium Flowers was officially born.

Avium grows fresh and sustainable flowers right here in Chicago. Our little farm resides at Metropolitan Farms in West Humboldt Park. As an urban agriculture cooperative, the crew at Metropolitan Farms has been wildly welcoming and we are happy to grow alongside these passionate farmers. In our beds at Metro, we focus on a high production annuals and biennials, we have quadrupled our dahlia capacity this year and happily exploring many new varieties.
